Qwen3.8-Max is Alibaba's flagship Qwen3.8-generation mixture-of-experts model, previewed at the World AI Conference on July 19, 2026 and made broadly available through Alibaba Cloud and partner gateways on August 3, 2026. Alibaba markets it at 2.4 trillion total parameters with a 1M-token context window, text, image, and video input, optional thinking with an adjustable reasoning budget, and a focus on autonomous coding and long-horizon agentic work. At launch it is API-only; Alibaba says it will be the first Max-class Qwen model to ship open weights, planned for the week after release.
