Pixtral Large is Mistral AI's first frontier-class multimodal model, a November 2024 instruction-tuned open-weight checkpoint combining a 123B multimodal decoder built on Mistral Large 2 with a 1B vision encoder. It supports a 131,072-token context window that Mistral says fits at least 30 high-resolution images. Mistral lists February 27, 2026 as the hosted `pixtral-large-2411` model's deprecation date and names Mistral Medium 3.5 as its replacement.
