LFM-40B is Liquid AI's first-generation closed language model announced on September 30, 2024 alongside its 1B and 3B LFMs. Liquid describes it as a roughly 40.3-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model using about 12 billion activated parameters at inference, built from adaptive linear operators rooted in dynamical systems, signal processing, and numerical linear algebra. The preview was marketed with a 32k-token context and reduced inference-memory growth versus transformer models; Liquid did not release the weights.
