Gemma 3 270M is Google's compact, text-only, open-weight pretrained Gemma 3 checkpoint, released in August 2025 alongside a separate instruction-tuned variant for task-specific fine-tuning and on-device use. Google describes roughly 270 million parameters—about 170 million in embeddings for its 256K-token vocabulary and 100 million in transformer blocks—and highlights uses such as classification, entity extraction, routing, and structured-text processing.
