Gemini 3.1 Flash Image Preview was Google's public-preview Gemini API endpoint for Nano Banana 2, released February 26, 2026 for high-throughput image generation and editing. The hosted model accepted text and image inputs, produced text and images, exposed a 131,072-token context window, and supported configurable Minimal or High thinking; Google retired it in favor of gemini-3.1-flash-image.
